Hey you! Is your new year’s resolution to become totally bad-ass?
Or maybe you’re a competitive type, looking for a fierce sport with the physicality to match?
Most importantly, do you want to bond with a great group of people in a diverse, inclusive, and ultimately rewarding community?
If so, Oklahoma Victory Dolls Roller Derby wants to see YOU at our spring open house!
Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 19th for an information session and learn about our 12-week beginner’s course, designed to teach you everything you need to know to skate and play roller derby. Whether you want to play, officiate, or volunteer, join us!
Our 12-week course will teach even the beginner-iest beginner how to skate and play. No skating experience required! (That’s right – NONE! Many of our top athletes and officials hadn’t skated in years…or ever! And many officiating positions don’t need skates at all!) Our course will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. All we need is YOU! (Bonus: stick around to catch our weekly scrimmage after the info session.)
We provide skates and gear for the course (but no skating on the first night, so don’t worry!) Just bring your awesome self to our info session to learn more about roller skating, roller derby and what makes the Oklahoma Victory Dolls one-of-a-kind. You must be 18 or older, willing to learn, and prepared for badassery! Post here or message us with any questions.
Interested in skating but not much for competing? Our class will teach you to skate if you want to become a referee. And we are always recruiting non-skating officials, announcers, and anyone else who wants to be a part. Roller derby is fun to watch and the community is like no other. Join us on the 19th or contact officiating@okvd.net for more information on officiating.
